Why We Built This Site
Kentucky gives residents a statutory right to inspect public records through KRS 61.872, but Washington County records are not held in one office. The Circuit Court Clerk manages Circuit Court, District Court, Family Court, and Business Court records in the county. District Court handles traffic, misdemeanors, juvenile matters, probate of wills, small claims, and preliminary felony matters, while Circuit Court handles felonies, divorces, civil matters over $5,000, contested probate, and title disputes. The County Clerk separately maintains deeds, mortgages, marriage records, recorded wills and instruments, liens, and other county legal records. We built this site to keep those local paths clear.

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Kentucky court, Washington County clerk's office, sheriff's office, jailer, county attorney, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, office hour, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
